About Wyrdin Map
Wyrdin Map is a free, independent, open-source situational map for NSW and Australia: fires, satellite hotspots, road hazards, river levels, earthquakes and electricity-market conditions on one page, each layer timestamped and traceable to an official open-data source.
The world is getting more dynamic and less predictable. We think ordinary people — households, farms, small businesses, co-ops — deserve the kind of at-a-glance situational awareness that large organisations build for themselves, assembled from data their governments already publish openly. This site is our contribution: no accounts, no tracking, no charge, and every source credited.
Independence
Wyrdin Map is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government agency or data publisher. It is run by the team behind the Wyrdin webstore as a free community service; the information here is never charged for and never will be.
Open source
The entire site — ingest scripts, frontend, and configuration — is free software under the GNU AGPL-3.0. Source code: repository link to be published. Improvements and redeployments for other regions are welcome.
